Lets get our kids back on the right track with Superfoods for Kidz!

For the first time in history children are less healthy than the generation before them. They are not just a little worse off, they are precipitously worse off, physically, emotionally, educationally and developmentally – Judy Converse – MPH, RD, LD

What has changed over the years …
  •  Since the 1930’s our exposure to chemicals through food, our environment and products used in the home has increased dramatically
  • Consumption of fast foods and processed foods has increased dramatically,
  • The vitamin and nutrient content of our foods has declined dramatically
  • Children are born with a certain enzyme bank account, some more than others. Children born of parents who regularly eat nutrient depleted foods have a smaller enzyme account, by the second and third generation of parents on deficient foods they are often born with allergies or develop generative diseases quickly
  • Australian Children have the highest rate of allergies in the world.
  • 85% of Australian children are obese
  • 17% of Australian children are overweight
  • 1/3 of Australian children consume little or no fruit or vegetables
  • 78% of Australian children don’t meet the dietary guidelines for daily veggie intake
  • 39% of Australian children don’t meet the guidelines for daily fruit intake
  • There is a general decline in fruit consumption in Australian children between 2 – 11 years of age
  • 32% of Australian mums find it difficult to get their kids to eat fruit in their school lunches
  • Almost all parents have struggled with fussy eaters or busy lifestyles that make it hard to get all the recommended serves of fruits and vegetables into their kids, every single day.

As busy mums we need to do all we can to get the best nutrition we can into our kids from an early age (it’s not always easy ! I have a child with major sensory issues with food so I know) a few quick tips are :

  • If you can’t pronounce the name of a food – don’t eat it
  • Don’t eat anything your grandmother wouldn’t recognise as a food
  • Eat food with ingredients a normal person would have in their pantry
  • Avoid low fat or Light foods
  • Eat foods made from ingredients you can picture in their raw state or growing in nature
  • Limit your exposure to toxic chemicals, choose your cleaning products, beauty products and any products exposed to the skin carefully.

The Nutra Organics team were concerned for the health and future of our children and grandchildren so we sought out a way to Boost the kids daily nutrient Intake with Superfoods and Wholefood Multivitamins. We noticed a huge change in the health of our children as a result of consuming our formulations on a daily basis and hence Superfoods for Kidz products were born.

For those who are not sure about Superfoods and Wholefood multivitamins firstly a quick description of both :

What is a Superfood–
Superfoods are nutrient powerhouses that are packed with large doses of antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals. To be classified as a Superfood the food must have a dozen or more unique properties not just one or two, eating Superfoods also means you can get more nutrition with less eating.
Superfoods are both a food and a potent healing tool or medicine; they have elements of both. Eating them increases our nutrient intake, keeps our immune system healthy, reduces the risk of chronic disease, prolongs life, and helps your skin glow and you feel healthier too.

Why Do we need Superfoods ?

Today we need to find new areas for whole and balanced nutrition, because evidence shows that we can no longer get all the nutrients we need from fruit and vegetable alone – WHY IS THIS, you ask ?
Because our soils are over harvested we now have little or no nutrients left in the soil, therefore our fresh produce does not contain the same nutrients it once did. They also fight free radicals to help our body eliminate all of the toxins and chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis. * This chart shows the average nutritional loss in foods over a 50 year period

What is a Wholefood Multivitamin ?

A wholefood Multivitamin is created using simply raw, whole foods, this means it is as close to nature as you can get.

A wholefood Multivitamin is bioavailable, this means that the nutrients contained in it are directly absorbed by the body, your body does not have to work hard to break down the nutrients and none of the nutrients are lost in absorption.

A Multivitamin tablet, on the other hand, bear no resemblance to real food. They have NO enzymes, and they lack a lot of the whole food factors your body looks for when breaking down and utilizing nutrients. Multivitamins are synthetically produced and are often full of wax, binders and emulsifiers; some children’s vitamins even include artificial sweetener
