Summer BBQ's, Fruity punch and the odd glass of Sparkles!

Summer time calls for the festive feeling; lots of backyard BBQ's, fruity punch and the odd glass of sparkles! Finally having a yard full of everything a child could dream off and a lawn that goes on for days we are slowly embracing the lawn party... Yes, we have been having people over. Can you believe it? hah!

Last weekend we had such a wonderful catch up with some close friends of ours. Little P is just in love with her buddies and they bounced on the trampoline for hours in between swimming sessions in the paddling pool. We enjoyed the conversation, the fun and the food. It was such a lovely afternoon with friends sitting back and chilling on the lawn.

Apart from the amazing company, the best part of the afternoon was the pop of colour that sky rocketed from the table; reds, greens, yellows, stripes, and sunflowers! Such a fun table arrangement
I put together with some fantastic products from Kitchenware Direct and Swish PlasticI love Kitchenware Direct as they have so many fab products at such great prices.

Have you seen the new plastic glasses range they have??? They are the best, they look and feel like real glasses yet their polycarbonate construction is virtually indestructible. Breaking some sort of glass is coming a daily trait of mine, whether its because I rush, do too many things at once or am just plain clumsy, I think these plastic glasses were created for me. A glass that a child or you CAN NOT break! I am sold, I don't think I will ever be able to live without them now.

With Australia day hitting us this weekend, I can feel me fancying up that little table again with these awesome products for our family!

Whats on my table -

Discloser: I was gifted these items from Kitchenware Direct and Swish Plastic, although all comments are my honest and my own.

    WEARING: Comfort with some pop!

Hooray! I made it out of the house with a shower, hair washed AND Make up on... Can you believe it??? Today my little P started preschool, a day I have been freaking out about for months. But we did it! She waved me off before I could even sign her in and I could just tell she was in for a great day! So today, for me; has been a little weird, a little quiet but in my own style I have made sure I have kept VERY busy; catching up with friends and taking little Sunny to his mothers/baby group to count the seconds of the day away until preschool pick up time. Still is true comfort; I am wearing a brand new ensemble that I absolutely love from Sahara Fleur, which is currently having a 40% off sale (WIN!). I'm so in love with these shorts by the way; so so so comfortable! Its been a good day!

    This day...

Today is one of those days, you know... One of those days... That day comes around every year... A day when we remember the day that my dear old dad said good buy to us from the earth and sent his soft soul off to heaven... Its a day I seem to always forget, kind of because I want to forget it. Why? Because this day, a few years ago, was not a good day. Days like this are the days I don't really want to remember.

Days like these, the sad days, I just don't get. It may be just me, thats ok but...

    Birthdays = YES!
Death days = Not so much...

I mean, I am aware of this day, its a day of remembrance but the sad memories are not the ones I want to remember and on a day like today, thats all that really floods through. I remember this day like it was yesterday. I really don't want to mark the day that someone leaves, I'd rather mark a happier living type of day.

So today may mark a life moment for my family but I will remember my dad, just like any day; the good bits, the funny bits, the crazy bits and the silly bits. He was a great dad and thats what I will remember... Every day!

    Love you Dad!

    Must haves to start Kindy!

Can you believe it? My baby girl is starting kindy in 4 sleeps. Thursday is the big day when my big girl turns into a bigger girl. I wont lie, I have been excited, yet dredding this day for the last couple of months. Are we doing the right thing? Is she going to love it? Is she going to have fun? Little P will wave me off and I will cry, I might check the phone 100 billion times and maybe call the centre a few times in between. Its the fear of the unknown but also the excitement of a brand new stage in our little girls life that she is going to love I'm sure! So in the last couple of weeks, I have been frantically doing research into what we need to start this next adventure, products that will assist with the transition and products we love. Diaries of a weekday widow...

Happy Hump Day! I hope your all having a fabulous week! I know a lot of people have gone back to work for the year this week and for a lot of us that means more chaos around dinner and bath time.
As I have mentioned before, Mr A is in the NAVY. This means, sometimes he's home, sometimes he's away, sometimes he works hard, sometimes he trains hard and sometimes he's super stressed out and other times he's a joy to be around. The job is a never ending up and down but I think that's what he loves most about it, it's exerchanging and his enthusiastic mind gets a good work out, he never has the chance to get bored.

Sounds like an amazing job and it is but for a wife it means long days and nights by yourself; wrangling children and not knowing when "Daddy" is coming or going again... ITS TUFF!!! There is no regularity, structure or point of booking anything in advance.

This week calls for Mr A to start back at work; new courses, new posting, new job and a promotion. He won't be coming home on week nights, he won't be bathing the kids, helping with dinner, and there won't be any opportunities for me to run out "childfree" to grab something at the shops. It will be me and the kids; Monday to Friday throwing food at each other and screaming the house down between 4-7pm. But when "daddy" walks in that door on a Friday night we will be jumping for joy!

This Christmas holidays my husband has been amazing, I have had the opportunity to take a step back a little and watch how the children just love him so much and how much he really does for our family. Its been so great! That's why its going to be so hard with him gone but I know we will survive! Fabulous friends and supportive people around, what could go wrong??? Hah! Let the games begin!

How are you feeling this week? Are you back at work or home with the kids? Hpw do you go when your partner is away?

    COSMETIC REVIEW : Arbonne

    Wearing Perfecting Liquid Foundation
Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen, Earthy beige
A little while ago a great friend of mine was given a new business opportunity; a business to work her own hours, in her own home, how could she say no? Being new mums, Faith and I would chat about what we wanted to do with our lives now we were stuck to a baby while our husband galavanted around the country side keeping Australia safe. It's really hard being a partner to someone on the military. Anyway, a few months down the track and a search for the perfect spot in this modern day mother inspired society, Faith was introduced to Arbonne. And how well she is doing is amazing!

Arbonne has a huge range of skincare products, cosmetics and nutrition products.

    Arbonne personal care products are
    formulated without:
    • Animal products or animal by-products
    • Parabens
    • Formaldehyde-donating preservatives
    • The following petroleum-based ingredients:
    • Benzene
    • Mineral Oil
    • Petrolatum
    • Phthalates
    • Toluene
    • PABA

    source
Arbonne nutrition and weight loss products are formulated without:
    • Artificial colors
    • Artificial flavors
    • Artificial sweeteners
    • Animal products
    • Animal by-products
    • Cholesterol
    • Saturated fats
    • Trans fats

Please note that Arbonne products are NOT all natural but the brand is headed on the right track and I would say they would be a great transition for people who are wanting to start using less harmful and toxic ingredients and products on their skin.

    The lovely Faith;
    Arbonne Consultant
I recently had the chance of trying the make up primer and perfecting foundation and these products are truly magic. They go on the skin like silk and smooth out the odd wrinkle and even out skin tone. The foundation has really great coverage and is long lasting. Every where I went; friends were commenting how great my make up looked = WIN!

    4 Fab Friday Market Finds

Friday mornings for our family call for a farmers market outing; strolling, chatting, taste testing, food shopping, catch ups, popcorn and playtime. Its the place to be on a friday and its full of so much local goodness it feels good to be there! What I love most about the market is finding unique, fun products and chatting with the lovely people that created them. Its crazy how far we have detached ourselves from where our food really comes from but these amazing people are bringing us back and sharing with us just how real food can taste great and natural products are just divine! The pictures below are of my favourite products I've stumbled across lately.

    1. RAW ALMOND MILK by the guys at Inside out Nutritious Goods
Did you know that all the almond milk in the supermarkets has been pasteurised? Yes, thats right, its been flash heated to the kill the bad bacteria but in the process, it kills off the good too. This stuff from the Inside out guys is worth checking out; it is full of all the good, all natural, handmade and oh so creamy!!! They make some killer smoothies too.

    2. The new range of baby skincare products by ChamonixRain Organics.
ChamonixRain Organics was created by a local mum on the Northern Beaches passionate about natural skincare and Organic materials. It all started with a breastfeeding cover and now has a fabulous Boutique Organic baby essentials Range of amazing products from beautiful bamboo baby sleeping bags to bibs, baby bedding, soft cotton towels, Skincare and so much more! These products are just gorgeous and I highly recommend having a look and trying their great products for your bubs!

    3. THE GREEN BAR
Oh man, do I love these babies. Its the treaty bar of the week. Jam packed with greens including kale and spinach, nuts, carob and honey. These are a must try... Just believe me!

    4. Gluten Free Dumplings by Golden Pig Wholesome asian foods.
I am a total sucker for yum cha so when I ran into a stall like this you can imagine my excitemet. Not only are Golden Pig products gluten free but they 100% free from any crap!!!! Fast food that is delicious and made with real ingredients. These whole food asian products are the real deal, hand made by real people, amazingly passionate people at that. Do yourself a favour and try these... AMAZING!

Have a happy week! See you at the market!

Its a New Year (an over-share)!!!

It's a new year, with new ambitions, new resolutions and new hopes and dreams. Last year was simple; SURVIVE! This year; I need to concentrate on finding "me" again.

I have chatted with you before about how I have struggled to fit in as a mother of 2. Life isn't as easy and when I have said I struggled, I really have.
The truth is; I have been stuck in a rutt! I have been stuck in a sleepless, stressed, depressed, overprotective parent, grumpy, overweight, drowning in my own "mean girl" rutt!! That is not who I am and that is what makes me sad, really sad!
Being in this rutt has not been good for my family or my relationship, it isn't good for anyone!

I haven't wanted to go anywhere or do anything, And my weight has been my biggest enemy. Coming from a health background; I really don't feel comfortable in my body and I know that being too heavy is not healthy at all but the more I put myself down about it, the worse I make it. My body is craving attention, proper exercise, sleep and quiet...

When I joined the gym a few months ago (with full intentions of going, but managing to create every excuse in the book), I received a couple of personal training sessions which were great. On my first session; the trainer asked me what my goals were. I looked at him like; "Ummmm are you serious? Isn't it obvious? I am too fat! It must go!"
I confided in him of how I just don't get it!!! Why is my weight not budging? I eat clean, what is wrong with me?

That's when the trainer said; "Cass, your stress is weighing you down!" Very literally. How can I expect for anything to change if I am so far buried down in my own shit that I can't find the ropes to pull myself out of it?

Towards the end of last year I knew enough was enough and over the Christmas period I have taken time out to start thinking about how I can get back to being "me" again. So, to say the least, things are all about to change, well already have (if your following me on Instagram, you would of see the introduction of my husband led training sessions). I have hit rock bottom, I'm ok to say that now and I'm ready to put on my "big girl" boots and start looking after myself again.

    No more late nights!
    No more crazy work hours
    Less work
    More rest
    More exercise
    More fun
    More Happy!

I am excited to start sharing with you my journey to feeling great again... Life is good and I'm ready to be back living it!
