Happy Anzac Day! Have a lovely long weekend with your friends and family!

Bookworld has your Mothers day Covered!

Have I told you before how much I love recipe books! It’s a secret obsession of mine. I'm addicted! Know one could ever stop me from buying the brand new healthy foodie style cookbook that lands on a shop shelf. I don't get through them all; some just sit pretty on my shelf and others I use daily over and over again. It's just a thing I have; I love to learn more and more about the tastes of mixing different foods, the health behind what's served up on a plate and the goodness that we can feed our family. Food is where it's at; it's survival. And books are like a private cooking lesson every single day; they are awesome!
I also love anything with beautiful pictures and pretty writing, housie style-books, full of inspiring d├ęcor or crafty business. I’m not a big novel reader; I never have been. I wish I was but my over stimulated brain can’t be quiet enough to just rest and read. Haha.

Mother's Day is coming up quick and I thought it would be fun to share with you what's going on at bookworld as they have some great stuff happening for mums and I know at least 1 new cookbook will be on my Mother's Day wish list *.

Browsing their online store; my favorites would have to be;
- I Love My Room: Children's Rooms You And Your Children Will Love - I have heard a lot about this book. Looks so gorgeous and full of  inspiration!
- The 20/20 Diet Cookbook – Love, love, love health nut Lola Berry; beautiful inside and out and her books are always fabulous!
- My Darling Lemon Thyme – Such pretty pictures and amazing whole food recipes!
- One Dish Two Ways: Feeding The Whole Family Without The Fuss - This is such a great concept. How many of you cater to a million different meal requirements every night?
- I Quit Sugar For Life: 148 Recipes + Meal Plans For Families And Solos – What’s not to love about Sarah Wilson and her I quit sugar program and recipes. I have her kid’s cookbook and it’s amazing. I would love to have a read of this one too!

Bookworld is also having a super fun Mothers Day comp, which includes the chance to win fantastic book prizes for Mother’s Day just by sharing “What book do you want to receive on Mother’s Day”. They are giving away books everyday. I would love for one of my lovely readers to win! To enter the competition, you can head on over to this site:
All the details can be found on that page so make sure you check it out and enter your details.

Then after you have entered, you can send your other half or your kiddies over to click frenzy to do some shopping in the Mother’s Day Sale which will be running from the 29th April to the 4th May and it will include 15% off site-wide discount on books, CDs, DVDs and more. How cool is that?

Well I hope I have inspired the bookworm in you just a little. And got you thinking about the next book you are going to sink your eyes into … What’s on your mothers day wish list?

* The mothers day wish list that I may just have to purchase myself as its very hard to relay to a 3 year old who cant go shopping by herself. Haha!

3am snuggles

This post is supported by Closer to Nature

You know that time throughout the night when theres a stir in the house, the silence is stopped, it's about 3am??? A rangling, tired toddler stumbles out of bed and down the hall way or a baby starts to make those noises that say; "I'm not going back to sleep unless you come get me"... Either one; it's those noises that make us Mumma's be worth a much higher salary and a much better award. But when one of those babes gets into my bed and snuggles up right beside me; there the moments that we cherish. Those moments when we know our babies feel complete safety right up next to mummy and we know those moments will not last forever.

This past week has been pretty hard with a yucky sick bug hanging around the house; Little P has been bouncing off the walls with boredom but little Sunshine has been miserable and really struggled. The tuff independent trooper has turned to me for every waking moment of cuddles and all night escapades. It's warmth, it's safety, it's love. The power of touch is so great, it's so nurturing and our children need that positive contact with their parents to feel truly loved and adored. When Sunny does give me those big cuddles he needs, it's such a special moment and it really feels closer to nature. The way the world intended parenting to be. Natural, nurturing and full of love!

DIY : How to create your own paper flowers

This past week we have been flooded with a bug on and off so little miss P has been suffering from a bit of cabin fever. Today was one of those days when you wish you could get out of the house to a park to let the kids burn some energy but the little boy just wasn't up to it and I wasn't sure if I could cope either. So instead of putting on another DVD, It was the perfect afternoon to get into some craft with our goodies from Office Works

Simple crafts are the key with toddlers so we decided to make these beautiful little paper flowers from the range of awesome and inspiring DIY projects to keep both big ones and little ones entertained over the holiday break by Stylist, Emma Clapham, from Who Loves That who has teamed up with office Works. Emma has some other great Office Works DIY projects for us to tick off our list this holidays including; bespoke corner storage shelves, a holiday scrapbox, a children’s homework station and an awesome organised wall. You can check them out on her blog here

In the mean time; put your crafting hat on and go get paper flower making. All details below to get you going! HAVE FUN!

Officeworks shopping list

Elephant Learning Company decorative paper scissors RRP: $10.01 (you can also use normal scissors if desired)

Elephant Learning Company assorted chenille sticks RRP $1.98

Elephant Learning Company crepe paper (colours of your choice) RRP $2.23
Step 1: Cut your crepe paper into multiple pieces measuring 10cm x 15 cm, and stack 8-15 pieces of crepe paper together (this will determine the thickness of the flowers). If you wish, you can alternate colours for a multi-coloured flower.

Step 2: On the longest side of your piece, fold the paper in 1cm increments back and forth, similar to how you would fold a fan. Ensure all of the paper is folded.

Step 3: Fold your chenille sticks around the centre of the tissue paper to keep the folds secure. This will also create your stem.

Step 4: Using your scissors cut each end of the crepe paper to your desired petal shape; we have created a range of shapes using the different paper scissors. Feel free to have play and experiment with different cutting techniques, e.g. frayed look, petal look etc.

Step 5: Unfold each side into a fan shape (as far as the crepe paper will allow), and then carefully pull apart each piece of paper to create the shape of your flower.

Disclaimer: Office works was lovely enough to send me some vouchers for our craft supplies.

Arghhh how excited I am to share this amazing and super simple recipe with you; it has been a chocolate filled day attempting to create the perfect recipe just for you to try this easter! My first attempt was terrible, 2nd attempt was a slight disaster but 3rd attempt was the perfection that I knew we could come up with... 3rd time lucky right???

This recipe is refined sugar free, dairy free and full of bite!
So here you have it; a delicious fool proof recipe for you to make in your Thermomix*...

200 grams Cacao Butter
1 tsp liquid stevia (less or more depending on your proffered sweetness)
1 tsp vanilla bean powder or extract
Pinch of salt (or more if you like a salty choc)
50 grams roasted carob powder ( I use this one, its incredible!)
50 grams raw Cacao powder

1. Place cacao butter (roughly chopped) into mixing bowl and turn speed 7 for 10 seconds. Cacao butter should become very fine.
2. Melt cacao butter for 5 minutes/ 37 degrees/ Speed 1
then scrap down bowl with spatula and put on heat again for 5 minutes/ 37 degrees/ Speed 1
Check it and if its all melted then your good for the next step, if not then just repeat melting for another 5 mins.
3. Now add in your stevia, salt and vanilla and mix for 1 minute/ speed 1
4. Sift in your cacao and carob powder making sure there are no clumps then combine for 1 minute/ speed 1
5. Pour this delicious silky smooth chocolate into silicon chocolate moulds and leave to set in the fridge. AMAZING! So delicious! Add dried fruit or chopped nuts or keep it plain, whatever you desire!

ENJOY! ENJOY! ENJOY! Don't forget to give my {crap free} chocolate and coconut Hot cross buns a try here too... I hope you all have a wonderful easter with your precious family!

 * If you don't have a Thermomix, try it over the stove on very low heat and dont stop stirring. Have fun! x

Winter Exploring!

What a pair these two are; from the love of kisses and cuddles to a few pushes and shoves'; these 2 buddies love each other to the end of the world and back. When we said that we wanted to take them down to the water to have a play and take some pictures of them in their new cotton on Kids Hunter puffer jackets they couldn't get in the car quick enough; but in true 3 year old style they didn't want a bar of the camera and got straight into playing where we weren't really sure we wanted them to play. HAH! The fun that these little ones have is great to watch and the exploring that that "MUST" do is awesome! What fun they have together!

Little P is wearing the Atomic Red Hunter Puffer Jacket and her buddy Mr A is wearing the Indian Ink Hunter Puffer Jacket. These jackets are amazing and perfect for this upcoming chilli winter! As soon as P put hers on; it reminded me of our snow days and made me want to take the kids on a winter adventure. They are just too cute! Cotton On kids have some fantastic winter gear coming out including these gorgeous little girls bomber jackets and these super cute puffer vests (I had to get one of those for my little Sunshine). FUN FUN FUN!

Go ahead and check out more of what Cotton On has for your little babes here;
