Dr Roebuck’s “Yoga For Your Skin"

At 8am on Wednesday 12th November, My Buddy Torah and I ventured into the city for a bit of a special girls day out. We haven't got to hang out like this in the past so it is so nice to have a close friend to enjoy the fun stuff with. Our first stop was The beautiful Botanical Gardens where Aussie twin sisters Zoe and Kim launched their new Australian skincare brand, Dr Roebuck’s. Myself and forty healthy on the inside and out guests gathered at The Boy Charlton Pool for a morning of yoga followed by breakfast as part of their ‘Yoga For Your Skin’ launch.  Celebrating their launch into Priceline Pharmacy across Australia, the event was timed perfectly as a great antidote to the silly season coming into summer.

‘Dr Roebuck’s “Yoga For Your Skin” refers to the feeling individuals have, similar to that of a healthy workout after they use Dr Roebuck's. Our philosophy is to look after yourself “inside and out” to have great looking skin.’ Says Zoe Roebuck, co-founder of Dr Roebuck’s.

We experienced a full yoga session led by Power Living yogi Mandy Kopcho outside in natural surroundings, overlooking Sydney Harbour. The Australian family owned skincare range began over 30 years ago when Zoe and Kim’s parents created the formula for their children’s sensitive skin. The Aussie twins are growing the family dream, with the product now available in 600 stores globally. Dr Roebuck’s is also the only Australian Skincare brand stocked in Shoppers and Drug Mart Canada.

‘Everyone kept asking us where to buy the products from and we didn’t have enough to sell,’ Says Kim Roebuck. ‘So we decided to make it available to everyone in Australia. Dr Roebuck’s has grown from 20 stores globally to 600 in the last 12 months.’

An all- natural ‘green’ breakfast followed the yoga, where we sipped on green smoothies and C Coconut Water, over a selection of breakfast goodies. As a gift, we were so grateful to receive a goodie bag full of amazing things; including our very own lululemon athletica yoga mat, yoga bag, Dr Roebuck’s towel and the skincare range to try at home.

It truly was such a beautiful morning to be part of, I am getting a little obsessed with yoga again and even more obsessed with the gorgeous skincare range!!!

A night away dancing!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to sneak away with a couple of girlfriends to the The Crown Plaza in Terrigal. Ou friend Mel organised it all so I was excited to jump on board. We drove up on saturday morning and was there by lunch time; we sat in our beautiful room looking over the pool and the ocean and chatted all afternoon, not interrupted by toddlers or tantrums, just chatted about everything and nothing. We sipped on the best stuff, ate a whole heap of cheese and crackers, got dressed up in leisure just like teenagers do and then headed out to the dirty club down stairs to dance the night away. Yep, I danced all night long, boogied to my hearts content and then went back to enjoy my comfortable bed all to myself, you know that feeling of not being shoved in the back by a little foot or squeezed around the neck by those tiny little arms? And wait for it... I slept in until 9.30am... ARGHHHHHH - AMAZING! We finished our stay off by lounging by the pool in the sunshine, a nourishing brunch at a healthy little cafe and then headed on back down to Sydney.
It was such a fun weekend! Exactly what the doctor ordered, maybe not the staying up late part, but hey, you got to have some fun right???

Was nice to feel a little free and oh-so-young again! What have you done for yourself this week???

A healthy update - week 7 EFF

This is a pic of day in the life of Eat Fit Food... A lot of food here to make up 1200 calories huh? Yes you can see smoked salmon and cashew cream cheese, chicken cashews, fruit salad with coconut yogurt, Atlantic salmon frittata, salad and tortilla chips with house made guacamole!!!

I'm kicking off week 7 of the transformation program feeling really good with a few "uhah!" moments;

1. I put on a pair of shorts that I can finally do up comfortably (with room)
2. I have ENERGY! Like serious energy to actually do stuff, do real exercise!!!
3. I wore swimmers on a the weekend in public and went for a swim for the first time in 2 years!! Yep I haven't worn swimmers, let alone had a swim since I was 6 months pregnant with Sunny and I live at the beach... Mainly because I was drowning so far down in my own shit that I couldn't face the fact of anyone seeing my wobbly body ... I'm still wobbly but I'm letting go of thought of what other people think and focusing on feeling good! How we feel forms a lot of our actions.

I've lost 3kgs on this program so far but I'm realising more and appreciating more that the transformation has to start from within first, that's where all the good stuff is. Bring on the next 2 weeks!!!!

The perfect afternoon

Ever have one of those afternoons when you look at your life and feel so grateful to be in it?
I had one of those afternoons today... It was so hot today, the hottest in a while apparently. Our house is a summer sweat pit, beaming hot afternoon sun, no wind and no air conditioning, it's not pretty. I picked my big girl up from kindy and got home to my husband that had arrived home soon before. We were covered in sweat, my little boy was beetroot red and we were already fretting the heat of the night to come. I looked at my hub and said; don't you feel like getting take away fish and chips and heading to the beach? We knew we couldn't get takeaway fish and chips, it's far from GAPS friendly but in the next 15 minutes we had the kids in the car and a big picnic basket packed full of grilled chicken skewers and a huge summer salad. We made our way to Pittwater to hang in the water, play ball, throw the frisby and enjoy a picnic dinner... It really was pure family bliss and we soaked up every second we shared together, it's the simple things that matter the most! I feel like one very lucky lady to be sharing my life with this little tribe. I think we may have created a new family summer ritual. HAPPY FRIDAY!

We all deserve to be feeling way better just ok!!! (prepare for an over-share)

This kid... He was presented to me just like this, in that moment, 18 months and 18 days ago... "It's a boy"... That was the mega shock, He was covered in goo and so so perfect! I couldn't of asked for a more perfect little human to join our tribe of now 4! What I didn't know was that the year to follow was going to be the hardest year ever! A year that I struggled with hormone imbalance, thyroid issues, massive weight gain, guilt for allowing my body to have placenta prévia, guilt for having a c-section, guilt for putting on weight, guilt for being such a horrible wife, gut issues, exhaustion, and struggling to accept being a young mum, all while eating so well... After feeling like such crap for so long and not knowing why, just that I felt I wasn't good enough, I finally took myself to a holistic biomedical doctor who gave it to me simply; "it's not ok to feel like this."... The turning point began; after a whole lot of tests, supplements, sleep and giving more back to myself; we had answers and an action plan! All these things were going on inside my body and the only symptom I would take notice of was how worthless I felt, how tired I was and how fat I had become. I didn't have depression I had a gut full of issues and a thyroid condition, the depression was just part of the symptoms. I remember praying the day I went back into the doctor to get all my blood and poo test results (yes poo test!), that they had found something wrong with me... I knew any normal doctor would of just brushed me off the desk and handed me a script for anti-depressants. That wasn't what I wanted, I was ready to heal whatever was going on and feel good again, I needed the tools to get me there. Things are heading on the right track now and I'm feeling more like myself again! Its nice to feel that I am slowly gaining back my control and I have learnt so much along my own journey, its incredible how the body works and how important the gut is!

What I'm trying to say is that PND can be a culmination of a whole heap of issues going on in your body crying out to be treated and shouldn't be ignored... As mums we can forget about what's most important and that's our own health! We need to listen to our bodies! It's not all about food, we need to focus on the holistic picture. We need to be built well emotionally, physically and spiritually so we can drive the boat! Our kids need us!

As its Post Natal Depression awareness week lets show support to all those mummy's out their trying their best and just feel like their struggling to survive each day. And If you are one of them, go and do something for yourself! See a good holistic practitioner; get some tests done, get a massage, see a kinesiologist, learn to meditate, pray! Whatever brings you more awareness to your body and how great it can feel because we all deserve to be feeling way better than just ok!!!!!

Have you heard? Theres a new boss in town???

Last week I hopped on over the bridge to the beautiful centennial gardens for the Kids Business annual Bloggers Brunch. They had some great brands their showcasing their products to us but the stand that I was drawn straight to was Breville. It radiated health and fun and they were blending up smoothies and making nut butters like crazy. Green Smoothies? I was immediately sucked in. The guys from Breville were demonstrating THE BOSS. The Boss is the latest whizz to hit the scene and on the day I was lucky enough to be able to take one home to try, I was so excited to have one in my hot little hands and to be able to share my experience of the machine with all of you! Even after seeing the demo, I was pretty sceptical, there are alot of high speed appliances getting thrown around now and everyone wants to make the perfect green smoothie and for their's to be the best or most affordable, I have tried alot!!! I couldn't contain myself though, I got straight into it when I got home. Was this really going to be the boss of all machines? I was going to sink my hands in deep and find out! There were 3 major things I wanted to test...

First up; a green smoothie of course!

I opened up the box, gave the machine a wash and filled it with a banana, almond milk, half a pear, probiotic powder, kefir, and then a huge amount of silver beet, parsley and mint. And when I say amount of greens, I mean as much as half the jug full. I was really worried that it wouldn't be able to get all the greens at first hit or not even at all as there was more in there than the other stuff. Once everything was in the jug, I popped the lid on and hit the "green smoothie"button...A minute later it stopped itself and pure, smooth, bright green liquid was created. I was in shock. Really? The hit of one button and after only one minute you have the perfect green smoothie?!? EEEKKKK I was so excited! The green smoothie text was done, the BOSS was now in the lead.

Second test was Almond meal + Nut butter.
We love nut butter in our house, its one of those amazing treats that can be full of goodness if you make it yourself. The thing about nuts is that they can go rancid pretty quick without us even realising. Its important to keep nuts fresh but buying the whole food and keeping them in the fridge if possible. If you have a great machine you can make your own without a worry and know you are eating good stuff. I have tried making nut butter in a couple of other appliances that applauded themselves on making nut butter and let me tell you they did not work; One of them (the top high speed blender on the market!!!) over heated and cut out so I had to wait an hour for it to try again. I had to use alot of elbow grease and the final product tasted quite burnt. I was disappointed. The other was a lower price machine that prided itself on the same feature but I had to use the tamper so much, it was a huge effort and then the motor completely blew up. YES, it died first go. So you can see why I was sceptical about THE BOSS living up to its expectations. I threw 3 cups of almonds into the jug, hit "mill" and 30 seconds later I have almond meal. ARGHHHHHH yes it worked! The I added a few chia seeds, some linseeds and 2 tablespoons of macadamia nut oil and 2 minutes later I have nut + seed butter... No joke... it was incredible! No fussing around, its magic.

Third up; CLEANING!

I'm a mum, I want to make things quick and I want to clean things up even quicker. To my delight, the Boss has a self clean button. I filled the jug to a quarter full of water with a drop of dishwashing liquid and pressed "self clean". 1 minute later is shut itself off, I gave the jug a rinse and that was that, clean ready for my next recipe. I'm sold right there.

I have also made a delicious fruit sorbet in it over the weekend for the kids; lots of frozen fruit, a bit of coconut milk and hitting a few buttons and we had the most delicious smooth sorbet for a treat. The kids were in their absolute element. Its so great to know whats in our food because we are making it ourselves!!!

Most of us want to eat healthier meals and snacks, but we don't have the time for complicated recipes right? Grinding, mixing, blending, beating: and at the end of it the kitchen is a mess. Eating real food is easy if we have the right equipment to help us out. This is an appliance that is high class and offers one-touch functions – including cleaning itself?

Are you getting this? I am in love, true love with my new kitchen whizz, THE BOSS!

Here's the nitty gritty...

Guilt-free nut butters, divine sorbets, healthy smoothies, hearty soups and more are blended to a silky smoothness! Whats different about the Boss is the unique Breville patented ProKinetix® blade and bowl system. It can create particles that are up to 50 per cent smaller than those produced by traditional blending. The blades work to fold the ingredients over so you dont need to push and pull things around like other machines on the market.

The Boss™ can shift from a slow stir to a pulverising, high-speed mill. Transform grains into fresh flours and turn whole nuts into butters and milks. Freshly grind seeds and spices for a tastier curry or casserole. Master the art of cocktails, frozen drinks and desserts.

It includes: 12-speed variable manual controls; five pre-programmed one-touch functions plus auto clean, pause, resume and restart; tamper tool and flexible scraper; and BPA-free two-litre Tritan jug featuring a tight-fitting, vented lid with ring-pull assist. The LCD backlit display makes it easy to use in any environment and the die cast base creates a stable foundation for the high velocity blending action.

Global ambassador Heston Blumenthal has also collaborated with Breville on an inspiring recipe book that comes with the Boss™. Each chapter features unique recipes supported by ‘appliance science’, which provides information on the importance of particle size, nutritional benefits and the food thinking insights related to various food types, including green smoothies, nut butters and spices. According to Heston, “when it comes to taste, texture is imperative”.

Following two years of intense engineering and testing by its award-winning Australian design team, the Boss™ by Breville is supported with a seven-year warranty for ultimate piece of mind. YAY!

Put one of these babies on your christmas wish list because its your lucky day!

Grab life and add some Bounce to your beach bag these summer holidays!

Last week I made my way to the beautiful Botanical Gardens to the Launch of the Bounce Protein Summer Selection. It was the most glorious day; blue sky, amazing view and incredible people! It really was a stunning morning. We met as a group and took a walk through the gardens and along the harbour, it was magic.

After our walk we were treated the a delicious, healthy breakfast with Bounce green protein smoothies which were super yummy! As we munched on brekky, we heard from the Bounce nutritionist; Teresa Boyce. It was great to hear the ins and outs of every ingredient and how passionate she is about real food as well as a need for a reliable go-to snack for us busy mums. I have never known much about the bounce products so it was very educational and nice to see that their are products on the market that do have out health in mind. Some of the ingredients include goji berries, macadamia nuts, coconut, cocao, almonds, spirulina and acai. All great ingredients to give us a boost of energy and good hit of protein to keep going throughout a busy afternoon.
Teresa's chat was followed by the incredibly inspiring Turia Pitt. Now this woman is one in a million; a burns survivor, engineer, athlete, best selling author and motivationist! For everything that she has been through, she is so positive and encouraging, you cant help but feel good around her. It was a real honour to meet such an amazing lady as Turia.
Turia shared her story and her crazy plans for the future, she will be taking on the Inca trail next year raising money for interplast! Turia is the Bounce ambassador and bounce will be supporting her with her inca trail challenge.

The bounce event was really an inspiring morning and so great to learn more about the products and especially the new summer selection. Bounce is all about active living and leading a healthy lifestyle full of fun! I love their vibe and their products are really yummy.
If you are looking for a high protein snack thats convenient, nutritious, natural and delicious. I urge you to check out the new bounce range!

The Bounce Protein Summer Selection Holiday Packs are available for a limited time only online at at an RRP of $35.

Thanks bounce for a fun and motivating morning!

We received a NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® capsule machine as a bit of an early christmas present last week. Its pretty stunning to look with its funky circular and slim line shape.
My husband couldn't help himself and just HAD TO put it into action minutes after it arrived. He's a big time coffee lover. I go through fazes, I do love it, I just know when I need to take a break. He enjoys every sip of his morning coffee; just straight up, no milk, very black.
I'm a milky (almond milk) latte type of gal, I like it to be creamy and taste like the real thing. Andrew doesn't see the point in adding milk, he tells me that it puts him to sleep and thats not why he drinks coffee in the first place. I have a coffee as a big treat, he has coffee to get moving.

We have had coffee machines in the past, we are big believers of "real" coffee; instant coffee isn't good for your body at all, ground coffee can be enjoyed in moderation. Our old machine had died so it was perfect timing that this babe came along. It's a capsule machine so theres no fussing around, no mess, just really simple to use which is what I love. I am constantly cleaning up the mess of the ground coffee beans over the floor in the past after Andrew makes his coffee in the dark and runs off to work.
So the mess-free aspect is a winner!
ALong with being mess-free; its so simple to use. You literally put the capsule in the drawer and press on and you have a cafe quality espresso, you can then either use the milk capsules or you can froth your own fresh milk. Its so easy!
Andrew was really impressed with the taste of the coffee and he's stoked to have his coffee pretty much made for him on the weekend morning without leaving the house or spending a dollar.

So if you are searching for the perfect present for a discerning loved one, a NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® capsule machine is a gift that keeps on giving consistent, quality coffee all year round. With its amazing performance and sleek design, the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® machine range really does allow you to experience the modern art of coffee in your own home which is really fun, especially over christmas with all the different guests popping in and out.

 This machine retails for $229.00. If you want to find out more go to;

Note: I was gifted this machine as an early christmas pressie from the guys at NESCAFÉ® . All statements and comments are my own. These views are the personal views of Cassandra Michelin and do not necessarily reflect the views of Nestlé.

Eeeeeekkk! What a crazy fun couple of days I've had! My buddy came to stay and I was lucky enough to be her "date" to the Cosmopolitan Fun, Fearless, Female awards yesterday. We had a huge day out; starting at the Dr Roebuck's Yoga for Skincare launch (which I'll chat more about later) and then got dressed up to hit a beautiful restaurant on the harbour filled with the most incredible and inspiring women. We munched on a delicious 3 course lunch as the awards were presented to the Winning Fun, Fearless Females in the room in their specific category. Torah won the sports section and the beautiful Belle Gibson from the Whole Pantry app won the social media, along with the list of other brilliant winners. Each speech was so empowering and motivational and it was just so nice to be a room with such inspired women doing there job at being awesome! It was such a good day and really fun to spend the day out with my friend who I don't get to see all the time.

I wore one of my favourite new dresses, its not super dressy but it was comfortable and fun and I feel really nice when I'm in it and thats what its all about right???

TOXIC FREE FIND: VANESSA MEGAN SKINCARE (+ 3 skincare packs to giveaway!)

I have always Ioved skincare! My mum was a beauty therapist so we always had millions of different creams, cleansers and potions around the house... My best friend and I would give each other facials and make overs, mum would tint our eyelashes in the lounge room, it was fun!!!

What I learnt along the way is how important it is to care for our skin and it can be something I realise now as a mum that can be easily forgotten! My mum used to say that you only have one face so you need to look after it. Funny what you remember as a kid.

Through my research now, it is alarming to see just how many harmful chemicals and filler ingredients that are in your everyday skincare regime. The active ingredients are usually quite minimal so we don't really know what we are putting on our skin.
when I cleared my cabinets out of all the chemical filled stuff two and a half years ago, it felt really good! But then I was on the hunt to find products that were all natural! What drew me towards Vanessa Megan skincare was their Moto;

"You should never put anything on your skin that you wouldn't eat!"

I love this! The skin absorbs anything that is placed on it so why clog it up with toxic chemicals??? It just doesn't seem right!
The Vanessa Megan skincare line is made from pure, natural ingredients and is certified organic. It is truly amazing, my 2 all time favourite products include the body oil and the a N.E.O face oil. I put both on before bed and my skin feels incredible in the morning!

I'm excited to have 3 great packs including 2 of their beautiful must-have products for 3 lucky winners!

Each pack includes:
Peruvian Hand and Body Cream
Lip Balm

TOTAL VALUE = RRP $45.90 each pack

Real Mum Review: Newa Skin Rejuvenation System Part 1

A couple of months ago; I was lucky enough to be flown down to Melbourne to attend the most beautiful lunch at the Botanical to launch the new amazing product from Homedics; The NEWA!
At the event, we got to try the machine and hear about all it has to offer. It sounded brilliant! An at-home machine that reduces wrinkles by up to 45% at a fraction of the price of going to a clinic for a similar treatment. It sounded a little too good to be true but I put one of our "real Mums" to work and review this baby for us to hear about if it really does what it says it does!

About NEWA:
Newa is a Skin Rejuvenation System that reduces wrinkles naturally. Over time our skin begins to lose collagen, which is what gives the skin its shape. Newa is clinically proven to firm, tighten and lift skin by reactivating your skin’s natural ability to produce collagen. More natural collagen means your skin is lifted and plumped up. And it reduces wrinkles by up to 45% in just 12 weeks all in the comfort of your own home.

It was perfect timing. I had just had a big birthday & was looking in the mirror and it didn't look good. I had started looking into different avenues to reduce the appearance of my wrinkles. When I hear I would have the opportunity to review the NEWA, I was thrilled to think trying the machine would work!

When I first began reading the instruction booklet, I felt a little overwhelmed and hesitant to actually proceed with the treatment. It sounded like a high quality machine but wasnt sure what it would do to my skin.

After a couple of weeks I built up the courage to turn the NEWA on and I started the treatment. I gelled up with the activator and pressed the buttons with the instructions in the other hand. Following each step to the word, I performed the treatment on myself for the specified time period. My face became warm. It was really easy to do in the mirror, this put my mind at ease and I went on. After the first treatment, I could see results, my face fell very soft and skin looked a little more plump.

It has been 2 weeks now and I can honestly say this little machine is fantastic, it definitely does work (see my before and after shots below) and I feel periodic follow up treatments will prolong the effects which are happening. Its a nice feeling to know that there is hope for older skin.
Because you can see it working, you really want to keep the treatments up. I'm a very happy customer and looking forward to seeing my results in the coming weeks.

Newa is a Skin Rejuvenation System that reduces wrinkles naturally. Clinically proven to firm, tighten and lift skin by reactivating your skin’s natural ability to produce collagen, Newa reduces wrinkles by up to 45% in just twelve weeks all in the comfort of your own home. WEARING: FRANKiE4 footwear

This morning I took an adventure over the bridge to the beautiful Botanical gardens for the Bounce Lifestyle Brekky. It was such a gorgeous morning full of nourishing food and inspiring speakers.
When I got the invite it mentioned we would be walking first and then sitting down for brekky. I was al little lost in what to wear, whether it would be a crazy power walk or a stroll by the harbour so I wanted to dress in the safe zone; very comfortable while looking like I've made a bit of an effort. I stuck with my favourite denim (I know! I am a little obsessed with denim at the moment!) smock dress by Lee Cooper and my new FRANKiE4 footwear Georgie Sandals. I knew I would be super safe in these shoes as they are built for walking. Frankie4 footwear are well known for their dedication in providing shoes that are really good for your feet while streaming gorgeous designs! Their moto "Saving Soles" is just awesome as how often do we compromise on our feet and bodies just to fit into that neat pair of shoes?!? We need to look after our bodies as a whole. The FRANKiE4 comfort footbed isn’t just like any other insole. It is designed by a podiatrist and physiotherapist to help provide you with the ultimate cushioning and support. I have been wearing these shoes every day for the past week and I am addicted. I have the widest, quite ugly feet that are really flat and most shoes hold no support and bring my inversion over even more putting pressure on my whole body. I love wearing the Frankie's and knowing I can look nice while still giving my feet what they need, full support! It was a lovely walk through the gardens and along the harbour and the breakfast was to die for. A perfect morning!

At the same time as filtering out the chemicals and dissolved solids, the filter technology leaves in beneficial minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium.
Each filter lasts for 600 Litres, dependent on the level of contaminants in the water. The filter will slow down as it gets clogged up by chemicals, sediments and more, ensuring that you will always have clean filtered water as long as the water is still passing through the filter. The filter does not expire after a certain amount of time either, as some competing brands do. The replaceable filter is interchangeable with the alkaline water filter too.
