A great friend emailed me this recipe she found on pinterest last week and it kinda sounded disgusting but I thought I would give it a go and hope for something totally yummy, delicious and guilt free to come out as the end product… And did it??? YES!!!! OH MY…. these are pretty dam yummy! You might need to make a double batch just so you can share. They are gluten, wheat, dairy and crap free! So, this is my take on the recipe, ENJOY!
1 can of Organic chick peas, rinsed, drained and patted dry with paper towel…. (The organic chick peas are only about 30c more $$ than generic)
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 or 2 tablespoons of Tahini
Put all in blender/food processor and blend till mixed and chick peas no longer resemble chick peas! Put in separate bowl, stir through choc.
The mix is really sticky, so what I do is get 2 spoons and do the fancy ice cream manuve they do on masterchef… you know, rolling mix from one spoon to the next to make a smooth ball looking thing….. You could try rolling into balls, but you will loose most on your hands as really wet mix. I then squashed them down a little flatter.
Bake at 180 for 20 mins till golden brown.
These babies will not be crunchy…. They are doughy, thanks to the wetness of the chick peas, but they are 100% good for you, esp if you use dark choc. So you get the naughty kick without the guilt.
