Meet Working Mums Nutrition Mentor Angela from the Ambaa Tree

Another wonderful week, another another wonderful Working Mums Mentor! I am super excited to introduce this amazing mentor to you; its ANGELA from The Ambaa Tree! 

Please tell us a bit about yourself and your Business. How did it all start?

I am a Naturopath and my business is called the Ambaa Tree Natural Health Centre.  I started The Ambaa Tree nearly 5 years ago to provide support to Mums.  Originally The Ambaa Tree was a large multi modality natural health clinic provide a wide range of natural therapies for new Mums.  Two years ago I downsized my business but my aim is still to provide support to Mums and their families.  I have found that there are a lot of businesses that focus on children’s needs and issues but there wasn’t a lot of support specifically for Mums.  I believe that Mums are the heart of the family and if I can support the heart then the whole family will be healthy and strong.

What do you offer as a mentor in your working mum mentoring sessions?

As a Working Mum Mentor I will help Mums to learn more about nutrition and how eating well keeps themselves and their family happy and healthy.  Mums will get some simple tips on how they can eat well and feed their families highly nutritious foods.

What are your top 5 tips for any busy mum?

– Eat well for more energy
– Sleep well for more energy
– Drink lots of water for more energy
– Smile even when things seem like they are not going well
– Look after yourself first and then you will be giving your family the best version of you

Do you have any advice or inspiration to send out to any of our readers that are thinking about starting their own business or doing more of something they love???

Running your business is hard work, you will sacrifice time with your family for your business but it doesn’t have to be that way forever.  It is important that your prioritise your time and learn to say NO!

If you had half an hour to cook dinner and realised you didnโ€™t have anything planned, what would you cook?

I am lucky that I own a Thermomix so making a healthy meal on 30 minutes is fairly easy.  In summer it would be steamed chicken breast with a quinoa and mango salad, in winter probably a chicken and mushroom risotto.

Whatโ€™s your favourite juice or smoothie?

Green smoothie with kale, cucumber, avocado, parsley leaves, pineapple juice, coconut water and protein powder

What is your favourite live by affirmation, mantra or quote?

“I know God will not give me anything I cannot handle, I just wish he didn’t trust me so much” Mother Teresa

Lastly, anything you want to share with us about you or your business?

My vision is to help as many Mums as possible to live happy and healthy lives.  I love seeing massive changes in the way Mums feel with just some simple diet changes.  Often the best thing I can offer Mums is my time to listen to them and to let them know that they are already doing a great job at being a Mum.
