What a magical place.
A little while ago we were invited to stay at The Woods Farm of Jervis Bay. It’s hard to put into words the full picture of what it’s all about but think farm stay meets Alice in Wonderland; the most gorgeous fully decked out luxe cottages to stay or glanping tents. Each cottage sleeps up to 8 people and has it’s own theme, natural body products to use while staying, board games, hammock, swinging egg chair, fire pit and large TV with Foxtel.
It’s a place to settle in, cosy up and unwind while soaking in the natural environment and farm living. We enjoyed a 3 night midweek stay and it was the perfect little respite we needed as life has been so busy with the daily grind of too many kids doing too many different things. My husband had to work so we met my sister there, it was so lovely.
The Woods farm has so much to offer guests; each morning we woke up to natural and the kids went up to collect eggs from the big chicken house for brekky. At 9am; all the animals are fed and we would wander over and be involved with it all. The kids loved cuddling the new baby goats and fell in love with the horses. It was so sweet; Pia now wants a horse for Christmas. Wish her luck.
In between playing with farm animals, we enjoyed the kitchen garden where we could pick fresh veggies and herbs to use in our meals, the kitchen garden is so beautiful, big long tables, equity with BBQ and wood fire pizza oven. The kids play area is huge and has endless old fashioned refurbished games, toys and play equipment. The pool and chill out area was so fresh and funky to hang out in too. There’s a magical chapel area where they have weddings and also run yoga sessions. I could imagine it being the perfect place for a wedding where all your guests enjoy the stay and what the place has to offer.
Each area comes with a big vintage door to enter; I love the shabby shieke vibe that the Woods Farm holds, it just feels special. They also have a secret forest to explore with special quotes around to get lost in. We had such an amazing time just relaxing and enjoying farm life. The kids really enjoyed the freedom of imagination and not needing to be anywhere else. It was a really great few days and I highly recommend taking a look, only 3 hours from Sydney, it’s a beautiful place to spend a mini break to revive city life and get back to nature.
