Welcome to LIVE IT. DO IT.
I share nasty-free recipes, real mum product reviews and life as a mum of four who is, overworked, underpaid and living in overwhelm – probably much like you are!
Hello! I’m Cassandra Michelin, but please call me Cass!
I’m excited at what’s going to be the start of a wonderful friendship where you share in my journey as a mum of four on a quest to nourish her children from the inside out, all while trying desperately to survive the daily grind of motherhood.
Originally born and bred in the Deep South, home for our family of 6 is now back where is all began; we’ve created a delightful urban farmyard in the picturesque South Coast of NSW, complete with chickens, a veggie patch and the ocean as our playground. But don’t be fooled, my life is far from perfect and some days are a massive struggle.
I’ve been blogging since the birth of my first child in 2012, I was determined she would eat healthy and wholesome food and together with my husband, a former chef, we created healthy and nourishing recipes that I’ve had great pleasure in sharing with thousands of readers over the years.
My blog is also a form of therapy, it feels good to connect with other fellow mums who are going through the same thing. I can be at home covered in baby spew and still feel like I’m part of the world out there when I’m connecting with those in similar situations.
I’ve always been passionate about dancing, sport and good nutrition, but since the sudden death of my father to cancer during my teenage years eating well became even more important to me. His death shook our family to the core and I made a promise to my little sister that I would live my best life free of toxins and nasties.
Now I’m ensuring our four darling children have the best start in life by fuelling them with natural, wholesome and homemade fare. Sure, it’s not always rainbows and unicorns, it can be frustrating, tiring and damn hard work, but I figure we’ve only got one shot at life so why not give it your all.
And because I’m passionate about sharing the knowledge that I have acquired over the years, I’ve crafted beautiful eBooks that are packed full of the simple, wholesome, and real food recipes that I make for my family. They’re easy-to-prepare and most importantly, contain no nasties or toxins.
Looking for nutritious recipes for your little ones – check out my ebooks!
What you’ll also find on LIVE IT. DO IT. is real life reviews of cool and useful products that your kids will love or might help make life easier for you and your family. We’re also always on the go, and with a Bachelor of Health Science in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, you might find I share some fun tips on keeping active from time-to-time.
Strap yourself in because you’re in for a rocky ride as I share my crazy life, the high and lows and everything in between. It’s my aim to entertain, amuse and inspire other mums to make simple changes to living a healthier and happier life as a mum.
Like to know how I met my husband?
When I was 15 I met my future husband at my dad’s sailboard school, I had the biggest crush on him and he had no idea until he was a bit older. My dad even said to me one day: “well if you’re a good person, you might end up with someone like Andrew”. So obviously he liked him. I started dating him when I was 20 after a random meeting years later. We fell in love, got married and the next year had our first child.
